WORKSHOPS & BOOTCAMPS

WORKSHOPS –  Immersive and interactive full-day acting intensive. In-depth study of the Shari Shaw Method and ‘The Positive Path For Actors’. Detailed exploration of ‘The 7 Steps’ and Effective Memory work.  Applying it to Comedy and Drama. Individualized scene work, analysis and critique. Relaxation and Warm-Up exercises. Concentration on getting deeper in touch with your authentic self and applying personal quirks and truths to the work. Fun, enlightening, energizing, inspiring, positive group environment and creative experience.

BOOT CAMPS – 2-3 hour abbreviated versions of the Workshop. Quicker paced discussion of the Shari Shaw Method, ‘The 7 Steps’, Mulit-Cam and Single-Cam comedy and applying it in on-camera scene work.

SHOWCASES – Committed, career-oriented showcase class culminating in performances of scenes and monologues to an Industry audience of producers, agents, managers and casting directors. Students partner-up for well-rehearsed, choreographed scenes focused on detailed character work and performance.  The 3-Dimensional Life of the Character is fully explored to create dynamic and nuanced scene work. Special emphasis on Effective Memory and Day In The Life exercises deepen the performances and impresses the invitation-only industry guests.  Showcase performance includes fully-produced scenes and monologues with props, wardrobe and make-up.  Unique opportunity for students to network and be seen by potential new representation – as well as grow as actors.
