“We don’t have to wait for somebody to green light our projects, we can create our own intersections.” – Tyler Perry
“All of the power that you have and all of the strength that you have and all the ideas that you have are in or born in your uniqueness.” – Tyler Perry
As we work on our intentions for the year, roadblocks are going to pop up. The pandemic, relationship problems, and feeling powerless to name a few. It is important to remember when these things happen that you are a powerful co-creator of not only your career but your life. Not getting the roles you want? Write a short and shoot it with friends. Can’t get a meeting? Ask a friend for a referral. Want to learn a new skill? Youtube it. You can make things happen for yourself. You are a dynamic human being with oh so much magic to do.
Before becoming a successful writer, producer, and actor, Tyler Perry did not have an easy childhood. He was the victim of physical abuse from his father and sexual abuse from other adults in his life. He dropped out of high school and attempted sucide. After seeing an episode of Oprah about overcoming difficulties, he began writing letters to himself in order to heal. This simple act of creation changed the whole trajectory of his life. Keep creating dear ones, you never know where it might lead.
