The Power of Supporting Each Other
As creatives, we often hear about the importance of supporting each other. We are told that we need to stick together, lift each other up, and collaborate to create a better future for all of us. But why is this so important? What makes supporting each other such a crucial part of success in the creative industry?
Right now, we are seeing the power of support in action as the Writer’s Guild of America is on strike. The strike is a result of the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) slashing writer’s compensation and residuals and undermining working conditions. The Writer’s Guild is fighting for a new contract with fair pay that reflects the value of their contributions and includes protections to ensure that writing survives as a sustainable profession.
The strike serves as a reminder of just how important it is for us to support each other. When we stand in solidarity, the universe conspires to bring us more support. Here are some reasons why:
