If you are an artist, you’re an artist because you love the craft of acting. You desire to tell stories. You want to fulfill the writer’s intent, break down what’s on the page, and combine it with yourself and your imagination. You want it, you need it, you desire it. And that is why you must have mind, body, and craft.
Your mind must be in a positive mindset to overcome all the obstacles that come your way in this crazy town. Of course, there are highs and lows, but it’s how you deal with it. Make sure you stay calm, focused, grounded, and let nothing touch your heart to go over your shoulder, so you stay in a place of self-love.
Your body is an instrument, and you must treat your instrument well. This is the instrument that you play. You must drink a lot of water and feed it the necessary nutrients to stay core power strong and on top of your game.
And then, of course, your craft. Reading and learning every day, knowing yourself inside and out, and understanding how to apply all of it to the material. Understanding the relationships where you came from, what you want, how you’re going to get what you want and match the genre.
