Keep Leveling Up

“Life will only change when you become more committed to your dreams than you are to your comfort zone.”
– Billy Cox

“Get comfortable being uncomfortable, that’s how you break the plateau and reach the next level.”
– Chalene Johnson

“No matter who you are, no matter what you did, no matter where you’ve come from, you can always change, become a better version of yourself.”
– Madonna

Once we’ve reached a level, it is easy to fall into the trap of being comfortable. But that’s our sign to know it’s time to start thinking outside the box again. Keep the moods, attitudes, positive mindset, but let go of that next level of limiting beliefs. It’s time to get back on the up and up!

That’s why it’s so important to enjoy the process of acting. The process of becoming better and better at your craft. The process of becoming a better you. There’s always another level. And think about it. The progression of acting stages are extra, featured extra, co-star, guest star, recurring guest star, series regular, getting nominated for an award, winning said award and then don’t forget film! And sure, you can go from a guest star to a co-star and back up the totem pole with a supporting role in a film.

The point is…

…there’s always another step in your acting career and therefore, you have to keep training. You must continue to evolve as your career does, because much of what got you to the first level, needs to “updated” to get you to the second level. Keep leveling up by taking notice of what positives got you to where you are and what negatives you’re ready to shed. Then, as soon as you’re feeling comfortable, make a change. Get uncomfortable, because that’s where the growth happens and in order to become better and better at our craft, we gotta change things up!
