“Acting is not about being someone different. It’s finding the similarity in what is apparently different, then finding myself in there.”

To keep us all healthy and safe, much of our lives have turned virtual because of the ongoing covid-19 pandemic.  This is necessary but an adjustment and facing it with your positive attitude will help you find creative solutions..  Auditions are all self-tapes or on some platform like blue jeans or zoom. Meetings, performances, and classes are on zoom.  Doing everything behind a screen can feel like screaming into the void or we can shift our mindset.  What a blessing to be able to safely tell your stories from the comfort of your own home.  Covid has given us many challenges but it’s nothing you cannot handle.   This is a good reminder of the importance of community in our artistic lives.

Having people in your corner supporting your dreams makes it easier for you on difficult days.   When your positivity shield is low, they can affirm your talent and drive and give you some of theirs.  If you are overthinking which outfit to wear to an important meeting, they can be a sounding board.  Plus let’s face it, we all need readers with these virtual auditions.  When you feel safe to do so, meet up with like-minded people in a park or go on a hike.  Mask up and go to a museum on a slow day.  Cultivate your community. As artistic warriors fighting the good fight, we don’t have to go it alone. Find your tribe and love them hard.  We are proud to be a part of your community at Shari Shaw Studios.
