“The American, by nature, is optimistic. He is experimental, an inventor and a builder who builds best when called upon to build greatly.” – John F. Kennedy

Haven’t been able to get this quote out of my head lately. Though, I would say that this is not only true of Americans, but of all humans. I believe with all of my heart that we have been put on this earth to give and receive love, to be happy, to create, and to thrive. And when something challenges or scares us, we must rise up, gather our strength, and build. Build bridges of communication, build relationships, seek knowledge within (and outside of) our communities, reach out to the needy, just find ways of making the world a better place. And CREATE! Pour yourself into your art. Let it out on the page, the stage, the canvas.

At the end of the day, artists are the ones who are looked to to make sense of the world. Art, stories, images, and songs are how the world is reflected back at its citizens. So, my dears, during times of great challenge, I dare you all to BUILD GREATLY! I know you can do it!
