An Attitude of Gratitude
“I am happy because I’m grateful. I choose to be grateful. That gratitude allows me to be happy.” – Will Arnett
I am so proud of you. You have accomplished so much already. Think about all of your bookings, successful auditions, great meetings, and growth in classes. You are planting seeds for your future successes everyday. You chose to follow your dreams and have come so far. I am certain that 9 year old you would also be proud. Take a moment to be grateful for all that you have accomplished. Practicing gratitude is a great way to bolster your positive outlook on life. There is something to be grateful for everyday.
Actor Will Arnett’s breakthrough role as Gob came at age 33 in Arrested Development. He quickly went from unknown to being cast in roles in big comedy movies such as Blades of Glory. Arnett credits his success to his early career struggles and his ability to be thankful for them. Arnett told Complex Canada: “I was old enough to know and appreciate that this (Arrested Development) was really unique… I did take that with me.” Being thankful also helped Arnett continue his career. “When I did something like 30 Rock, I was like, This is a really great show and I am happy to be a part of it. Or even BoJack Horseman, that was something that I knew was special and I was able to recognize that early when I read the first script.” An attitude of gratitude will never steer you wrong. It will help you attract all the good things you want in your career and life. So take a moment and be thankful for exactly where you are today. More wonderful things are on the way to you, I just know it.
